Road Cargo Information

Trade Single Window (TSW) enables registered shippers or their authorized agents to submit advanced cargo information of road cargo by electronic means. With TSW, truck drivers can enjoy seamless and speedy Customs clearance when they convey road cargoes across land boundary control points.

A shipper or an authorized agent is obliged to submit a predefined set of cargo information to C&ED through TSW 14 days in advance or at least 30 minutes before the cargo consignment being imported or exported from Hong Kong by truck. The set of information consists of 8 items:

1. Number of package;
2. Description of package;
3. Description of articles in each package;
4. Name of consignor;
5. Address of consignor;
6. Name of consignee;
7. Address of consignee; and
8. Expected date of arrival / Expected date of departure

As an acknowledgment after successful submission of cargo information, TSW returns a Customs Cargo Reference Number for the cargo consignment to the shipper who should then pass it together with the cargo description to the relevant trucker.
